Edward Dicks ARCA (1928 -2012)

Ted was a key figure in the music world of the 1960's and 70's, working with renowned names such as George Martin, Bernard Cribbins and Petula Clark. His work includes the West End productions 'Look Who's Here' and 'And Another Thing' as well as film scores, TV shows and the famous songs, 'Hole In The Ground', 'Right Said Fred' and 'Mouse In The Windmill'.

Ted began his life as an artist and studied painting at Hornsey School of Art, the Royal College of Art and in Venice. He also taught Art for a short time. In his later years, he pursued both careers in tandem to great success, using his wide experience of playing piano in clubs in his pictures of jazz musicians, singers and cabaret.

Throughout this period, Ted continued to paint and exhibit at the Royal Academy and several London galleries, including the RCA at the 'Art on Paper Fair' and 'The Affordable Art Fair' at Battersea.
