Ted was a key figure in the music world of the 1960's and 70's, working with renowned names such as George Martin, Bernard Cribbins and Petula Clark. His work includes the West End productions 'Look Who's Here' and 'And Another Thing' as well as film scores, TV shows and the famous songs, 'Hole In The Ground', 'Right Said Fred' and 'Mouse In The Windmill'.

In his later years, he pursued both careers in tandem to great success, using his wide experience of playing piano in clubs in his pictures of jazz musicians, singers and cabaret.
