One of our main strengths is the "Home Gallery", where customers and friends can browse through our various shows at their leisure and seek advice as required. The same team has been organising the gallery and exhibitions since its inception.
Celia Purcell Contemporary was established fourteen years ago. Celia's exhibitions have thrived on the diversity and eclectic works of art she displays both at her 'home' gallery and at selected venues.
A key advantage has been that through Celia’s aunt, Heather McConnell, a founding director of The 20th Century British Art Fair and The Grosvenor House Antiques Fair. Hence Celia’s interest and involvement in the art scene over many years.
Off duty, she would find herself mixing with members of the Chelsea Arts Club or visiting one of the many galleries and watering holes frequented in the past by the likes of Augustus John and Francis Bacon.
